Library Cards

Free library membership is available to Bowen Island residents or taxpayers, and to anyone living in the Lower Mainland. To receive a Bowen Island Library card you need to register in the library with picture identification and proof of your mailing address. Self registration is available online here by clicking on the New User button. Receipt of your library card must be made in person with identification within 14 days.

A maximum of 30 items may be borrowed on any one card. Within the 30 item limit, the following limits also apply:

Renewals

You can renew library materials online here, by phone at (604) 947-9788, or through the circulation desk at the Bowen Library. You may renew items a maximum of two times.

You may not renew documents or holiday items, or items that are on hold for another patron. 

Lost Library Material

Overdue material is assumed to be 'lost' when the maximum fine is reached, and at that point the replacement cost of the item will be added to your record.
Lost material is charged at full replacement cost of the item plus a processing charge. The replacement cost will be refunded if the item is returned to the library within two years of payment. The processing fee is not refundable.
